As of July 1st 2003, compliance with the ATEX Directive is a legal requirement in all European Union Member States for equipment and protective systems intended  for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.

Within the scope of the 2014/34/EU Directive

LCIE Bureau Veritas is recognized by the European Commission as a notified body (identification no. 0081) for all modules of this directive, and as such may examine electrical and mechanical equipment, protective systems, components, safety devices, controlling devices and regulating devices…

LCIE Bureau Veritas is approved by French Accreditation Committee COFRAC – Laboratory Section (test sector) for tests on equipment to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
