Bannière - RCTIF Certification

The Transportation Union of Ile-de-France, known as the Syndicat des Transports d'Ile-de-France (STIF), formerly called Syndicat des Transports Parisiens (STP), is the ruling authority regarding transportation for Paris and its area. One of its missions is to coordinate the activity of several transportation companies: the RATP (Paris Public Transport operator), the SNCF Ile de France (French National railway company) and other private operators affiliated to OPTILE.

Within the frame of this coordination and during the instauration of the remote ticketing user system (with contactless transport document), the STIF is now aiming at making any transport document issued by one of the transportation companies readable by any other card reading system found on the public transportation network of Paris and its area. This is what’s being called “interoperability”.

LCIE Bureau Veritas has played a major role in the creation of the RCTIF program (Ile-de-France common ticketing reference), enabling to achieve this “interoperability”.

LCIE is in charge of controlling the compliance of these remote ticketing devices, in its capacity as CBTL (Testing and Certification Body) since 2004.
